Top 10 Hindi Cover Songs and Artists of all time

In popular music, a cover version or cover song, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording of a previously recorded, commercially released song by someone other than the original artist or composer. The term "cover" goes back decades when cover version originally described a rival version of a tune recorded to compete with the recently released (original) version. The Chicago Tribune described the term in 1952: "trade jargon meaning to record a tune that looks like a potential hit on someone else's label. 

In India the credit goes to Gulshan Kumar to popularize this trend. It was through ,T series , Gulshan Kumar gave chances to so many new comers like, Sonu Nigam ,Kumar Shanu ,Abhijeet and so on.Recently some artist have done a magnificent job and created sensation on YouTube.

2.Jonita Gandhi

Jonita Gandhi is an Indo-Canadian singer. Her songs received appreciations in 2011, and were attracted to music composers of Bollywood. Gandhi started posting videos in collaboration with Aakash Gandhi and they went viral on internet. She has big hits on YouTube for covers of songs Someone Like You, Pani Da Rang, Tujhko Jo Paaya, Tum Hi Ho, Suhaani Raat, Yeh Honsla, and many others. She has also performed in BC, Canada for songs like Aao Huzoor Tumko, Lag Ja Gale which are very famous.

3.Sanam Puri

Sanam Puri has never received any formal training in music and describes his artistry as "in-born". With expertise in playing the guitar, piano and many other instruments, Puri's vocal practice commenced at an age of 6. In 2011, Puri, his brother Samar Puri, Venkat Subramanium and Keshav Dhanraj joined hands to form their band Sanam

4.Neha Kakkar

Neha Kakkar is an Indian playback-singer. She competed on the television reality show Indian Idol season 2 in 2006. In 2008, she launched the album Neha The Rock Star with music composed by Meet Brothers.Since then she has been playback singer for few Bollywood numbers. She has sung hit songs like "Sunny Sunny","Manali Trance" and "Aao Raja" with popular singer Honey Singh.In February 2012, she recorded a song about Bollywood actor SRK, which became a hit on YouTube. Along with these  other hit songs include "Dhating Naach","London Thumakda". She also came up with a single "Hanju" along with singer Meiyang Chang.

5.Siddharth Slathia

Siddharth Slathia (born 25 July 1991 in Jammu, India) an aspiring singer from India , grew up in Jammu and went to J.K Public School. At the age of 10, he took interest in singing and gave auditions for the school annual day. His teacher selected him and was very impressed by his voice quality and provided him good platforms to showcase his talent.   Siddharth sang in All India Radio and the local channels of Jammu, and also took part in many State level and National level competitions.

6.Abhay Jodhpurkar

Abhay Jodhpurkar is an Indian singer born in Madhya Pradesh on July 31. He is best known for his song "Moongil Thottam", a duet with Harini for the Tamil film Kadal. Abhay has learnt Qawwali for two years and got the opportunity to sing in A.R. Rahman's Sufi albums. His music journey started when he got into A.R. Rahman's school KM Music Conservatory

Darshan  Raval started his career as the lead vocalist and guitarist in the band Dip Zip. During this time he sang many Bollywood covers with Dip Zip for their YouTube channel. He also sang original compositions for his own YouTube channel "DarshanRavalDZ" alongside doing concerts around India. Later on, he was selected by Yo Yo Honey Singh as one of the top 10 singers for his show India's Raw Star

10.Rajdeep Chatterjee

Rajdeep Chatterjee is an Indian playback singer and musician from Jharkhand. Chatterjee was interested in music from age two and studied under Pandit Shri Chandrakant Apte. He graduated with a degree in Indian classical music. He was top Finalist of Zee TV music show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs in 2006. Rajdeep ranked fourth in 2008 on Indian Idol.
